5/3/2008 MPAA Board of Directors Elections

On behalf of Mountain Park Athletic Association, I want to thank the members of the 2008 Nominating Committee ( Bobbie Everett, Josie Verdi, Jill Youngblood, Sam Chambers and Greg Kable ) for their hard work in seeking out and interviewing potential candidates for the various open Board positions.  We had a record number of individuals expressing an interest in volunteering their time and talents to help serve on the Board of Directors.  Listed below is the proposed ballot that will be used for the general election to be held on Sunday, May 18, 2008 at 7:00 at the Mountain Park Depot.  The asterisk (*) next to a candidate's name indicates the nominating committee's recommendation for the position.  Several people who interviewed for a position but did not receive the committee's recommendation chose to have their names removed from the ballot.   I hope to see everyone at the general election on May 18th.

Top Adult Sportsman in Gwinnett

Donna “Tootie” Stepp of the Mountain Park Athletic Association was named the Top Adult Sportsman in Gwinnett. Those close to Tootie describe her as always being encouraging to her team members regardless of whether or not they win or lose and teaching the youths that they must always show respect to the other team members. Tommy Algard of the Duluth Youth Athletic Association was named as this year’s Top Youth Sportsman in Gwinnett. Picture
